I am a hard working councillor who has served the community for the past four years. I have gained a reputation for being a strong voice for the Valley. During my term on Council I have been proactive on many committees over a large range of issues. Chair of the Traffic Committee Deputy Chair North Coast Weeds Advisory Committee Chair Alumy Creek Advisory Committee Deputy Chair Clarence Regional Library Lower Clarence Access Committee Director Clarence Valley Financial Services Ltd South Grafton Bendigo Community Bank Clarence Business Enterprise Advisory Service and many more. I am a self employed business owner and understand the challenges business face on a daily basis. Economic development is vital, it is my view council needs to become more business friendly. Successful business contributes to the prosperity of the local economy which then flows into our community. I make every effort to listen and understand others. People have a right to meaningful involvement in the decisions that affect them. I want to ensure we consult and encourage genuine community participation. Of concern to me is council's ageing infrastructure. I want the backlog of infrastructure maintenance to be addressed as a priority. We must take this issue into account before making decisions to build new infrastructure. It should not be at the expense of maintaining what we already have. The issues in council are many and complex. The need to juggle a budget with the ever increasing community demands for services is not easy. What I do offer you is a willingness to work hard to meet your expectations and try and match them against the management of the Clarence Valley Council.
