TOOLS REQUIRED Trim stick 10mm and 11mm sockets #2 Philips screwdriver Protective cloth Ratchet and 6" extension 5/16" and 9/32" drill bits, drill, drill stops. T-20 Torx bit Scissors Electrical tape, masking tape.

PRE-INSTALLATION CAUTION/NOTES Dealer installation recommended. Instructions may refer to Service Manual Installation may require special tools This part is to be installed at a surface temperature no warmer than 65-100F Remove and prepare templates located at the end of Installation Instructions

This accessory must only be installed as specified in these instructions. Ensure at all times that parts are securely fitted and will not compromise the safe function of vehicle systems.

8. CRITICAL STEPS: The following steps are critical and must be performed EXACTLY as specified to ensure proper installation. Location of the lights must be followed exactly as described in this instruction. Posi-Tap instructions must be specifically followed as described. Cables must be properly secured to prevent rattling and/or snagging on any moving parts or limbs e.g. cup holder harness running through center console close to handbrake.

VEHICLE PREPARATION:
Vehicle Preparation a) Record customer radio presets.

Apply parking brake. Turn off the ignition. Disconnect battery negative terminal.
NOTE: USE CAUTION WHEN REMOVING/RE-INSTALLING TRIM COMPONENTS TO AVOID DAMAGE, SCRATCHES, BREAKING OF CLIPS AND/OR INTERIOR TRIM PANELS. MOVE ALL COMPONENTS TO A PROTECTED AREA. 2) Remove the following interior parts as shown. Refer to the vehicle service manual. a) b) c) d) Center console mat Center console tray Center console LH and RH instrument lower covers e) f) h) Instrument LH lower cover (center) Instrument side mask (LH) BE CAREFUL NOT TO PRY ON HARNESS. Front A-pillar finisher (LH)
WARNING
DO NOT PRY FROM REAR EDGE OF FRONT PILLAR FINISHER TO AVOID DAMAGE TO SIDE AIR BAG.
There are aspects of this kit that are different. Read each step.

CAUTION
Use only a 9/32" drill to avoid damage to Cupholder. Holes larger than 9/32" will not retain LEDs. Use a drill stop to avoid damage to the Cupholder. NOTE: THIS VEHICLE COMES WITH HEATED AND NON-HEATED SEATS. PLEAsE READ BEFORE DRILLING.

Prepare cupholder for LEDs. a) For cars without heated seat, tape template (B) to cupholder.
b)
For cars with heated seat, align top of template (C) to cupholder and tape template to cupholder. Mark and drill (2) 9/32" holes.

Peel double-sided tape liner and place each cupholder ligh assembly as shown.
Prepare console for encoder. a) b) Tape encoder template (A) to console. Mark and drill (1) 5/16" hole.

Install encoder. a) b) Insert encoder in hole, routing wire as shown. Install 11mm lock nut and knob.

Route encoder wire adjacent to cupholder screw bosses. Replace cupholder and (4) Phillips screws to capture encoder wire. Install (2) 4" cable ties to join cupholder and encoder wires. Trim excess cable tie.

Disconnect lower cover lamp harness. (if applicable) a) Secure wire connector to existing IP harness with 4" cable tie.
NOTE:
The lower cover lamp feature is disabled as part of the accessory installation.

Partially remove instrument lower finisher. a) Remove T20 Torx screw from hood release bracket. Leave hood cable attached.

b)
Remove lower finisher and remove all electrical connectors. Carefully place finisher on a protective cloth on vehicle floor. Clean light stick mounting area with alcohol wipe. Fix (2) 12.5 x 102mm x 0.7mm adhesive pad between edge of stick and position 8 & 4 as shown - on both light sticks.

10) Carefully pull light assembly and wiring to passenger footwell area.

The instructions for under the glove box are for 2009 and earlier vehicles. See the addendum for 2010 vehicles.
NOTE: Review pictures before mounting light sticks. Do not block LEDs. 11) Mount passenger side light stick assembly. a) Remove (2) glove box lower finisher Phillips screws. b) c) d) e) Clean I/P mounting surface with alcohol wipe. Peel off double-sided tape liners from light assembly. Press light assembly under dash area. Replace lower finisher screws.
NOTE: Ensure finisher flaps are tucked and do not block LEDs.
Bottom view under Glovebox NOTE: You may use larger cable ties from this kit for this part. 12) Mount driver side light assembly. a) Clean duct mounting surface with alcohol wipe. b) c) d) Peel double-sided tape liner from light assembly and press it to duct. Use (3) 15" cable ties around duct and light assembly. Use (2) 4" cable ties to secure light assembly to hood release cable and brake switch harness as shown.

CAUTION
Only use your fingers to release Module connector. Prying on release tab with any tool may damage the tab.

Route Power Cable a) b) Route remaining power cable across LG side of I/P. Place (2) 4" cable ties in locations as shown. Do not fully tighten ties at this time.

Tap vehicle wire. Remove cap (slot side) from tap body. Slide cap around vehicle wire. Tighten the tap TIGHT with finger pressure.

NOTE: Do not re-use the tap for subsequent reinstallation. Figures are not to scale. 2) Inspect the tap to ensure correct installation.

NOTE: Avoid putting pressure on the vehicle wire and tap for the remainder of the installation. 3) a) b) c) d) e) f)

Tap accessory wire. Remove tap (non-pierce) side from tap. Remove the protective stub from the wire. Insert wire through the non-pierce side opening. Spread the individual strands into fan shape. Insert wire into the tap body and ensure that it is all the way in. Tighten the tap TIGHT with finger pressure. Confirm the tapped accessory wire. Inspect the tap to ensure correct installation. Test the signal to ensure that it is working properly.

Secure the tap. Secure the tapped wire on the non-pierce side to the body of the tap with electrical tape ( 2 revolutions). Secure the body to harness where vehicle wire is being tapped with electrical tape ( 2 revolutions).

There are four wires in the power harness for this kit. They are: Brown - Room Lamp Circuit Black - Ground Green - B+ ( battery ) Blue - Accessory

Use a Posi-Tap to connect the Blue wire of the accessory to the Gray wire at the fuse block connector. Use a Posi-Tap to connect the Green wire of the accessory to the White wire at the fuse
block connector.

Disconnect the connector at the LH pilar.Use a Posi-tap to connect the Interior Room Lamp Circuit,the black/brown wire at connector NS12MW-CS to the accessory Brown wire from the harness

Place console in vehicle so console accessory wiring can reach Module, but do not fully install.

Verify there is no loose wiring. Secure all cable ties and snip ends. Verify system is functional. Re-assemble vehicle in reverse order.
Use caution when removing/re-installing trim components to avoid damage, scratches, breaking of clips and/or interior trim panels.

Remove glove box Remove trim above glove box by firmly pulling away from IP, taking note of the (5) clips. Remove (2) #2 philips glove box mounting screws located behind trim.

Remove (3) #2 philips screws located below glove box. To remove glove box, push out from the back side and disconnect harness.
