POLLING METHODOLOGY
This poll was conducted by JMC Analytics and Polling. Our philosophy about which population to use depends on the election, but we are generally comfortable with a likely model (as opposed to a registered model) for most elections. For this poll, we chose a sample of 19,262 households residing in the 20th Congressional District of New York for an automated poll and 610 respondents answered at least one of 6 questions. The poll was conducted September 16. The margin of error, with a 95% confidence interval, was 4%. The geographic breakdown of the respondents was weighted as follows: 10% from the city of Albany, 31% from the suburbs of Albany County, 4% from Montgomery County, 12% Rensselaer County, 20% from Saratoga County, and 21% from Schenectady County. The party breakdown was (by registration) 44% Democrat, 32% Republican, and 24% Independent (this
includes unaffiliated voters and those registered with a third party). POLL RESULTS
