This analysis is based on 400 interviews among registered, likely November 2012 General Election voters in CA-52. The survey was conducted October 19-21, 2012. The margin of error is plus or minus 4.9 percentage points at the 95% level of confidence. The margin of error for subgroups varies and is higher. Party registration in this poll closely matches registration in numbers in CA-52 as a whole. In this survey, Republicans represent 40% of voters, Democrats 36% and DTS voters make up 24% of the sample. If anything, the poll is a bit more Republican. Scott Peters is in the lead in the race for Californias 52nd Congressional District Democrat Scott Peters has a fivepoint lead over incumbent Republican Congressman Brian Bilbray. Peters receives 45% of the vote, as opposed to 40% of voters who support Bilbray. A little over one in 10 (15%) remain undecided.

Peters lead over Bilbray can be 0% explained, in part, by the Congressmans low job performance numbers. Less than one-third (32%) say that hes done a positive job in Washington, D.C, while over four in 10 (44%) provide him with negative reviews.
