James M. Pldcock, a son of Congressman Pid-
cock of New-Jersey, testified that he and bis
brother have six stands tn the new market, not-

“Don't you maka any mistuke about that,”
responded Mr. Nicoll hotly. “ I have seen more
Grand Jurors than you have.”
Commissioner Holahan said Mr. Brown had
left himself open to grave suspicion, but that
he preferred not to actin the mattor until after
he had heard the testimony of Mr. Brown's
pookxeeper. Mr. Brown prumised to send the
bookkesper before the Commissioners. He
wanted to take away his ledger, but Commis-
sioner Barker grasped and held it
