Responsibility and Memory After the Holocaust OTTAWA- Members of the media are invited to sign up for press passes to gain exclusive access to the first public conference in recognition of Canadas assumption of the Chair of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA). The Zelikovtiz Centre for Jewish Studies is hosting the If Not Now, When? Responsibility and Memory After the Holocaust at Carleton University on April 24th and 25th, 2013. The Max and Tessie Zelikovitz Centre at Carleton University is Canada's "capital" research institute for Jewish Studies. With access to Ottawa at its front steps, the Centre connects with Parliamentarians, public servants, diplomats, NGOs, international organizations and the national media, as well as other academics and the broader community, on the basis of the innovative and cutting-edge research conducted by more than two dozen Zelikovitz researchers. Featured speakers at the conference include, but are not limited to: The Honourable Jason Kenney, The Honourable Irwin Cotler, Dr. Andrew Bennett, Dr. Mario Silva and Dr. Irving Abella. Press can cover the whole conference or cover it from a specific angle. Some possible story angles include: - The conference is first major public conference since Canada assumed chairmanship of the IHRA; - The conference is unique because it brings together politicians, public figures, academics, survivors and scholars; - The conference includes a panel on Holocaust Education: Teaching a New Generation. As survivors age, this topic is growingly increasingly important; - The conference includes a Parliamentary Panel on Religion and

Public Life: Issues of Discrimination and Intolerance. The politicians on this panel include: The Honourable John McKay, MP Mark Adler and MP Elizabeth May; and - The conference includes an exclusive look at The Untold Story of None is Too Many by Irving Abella.
