METROPOLITAN POLICE DEPARTMENT FIFTH DISTRICT CITIZENS ADVISORY COUNCIL 1805 BLADENSBURG ROAD, N.E.

WASHINGTON, DC 20002
Dear CAC Member/Friend: On Thursday, October 24, 2013, the Metropolitan Police Department, Fifth District Citizens Advisory Council (5DCAC) will hold its Annual Awards Dinner to honor police officers and civilian personnel. This dinner will be held at The Washington Navy Yards Catering and Conference Center, 1454 Parsons Avenue, S.E., Washington, D.C., from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. As you know, MPD officers are confronted with new challenges every day. We all recognize the important role of well-trained law enforcement officers in creating a safer, more secure community and on a daily basis we believe that MPD officers and civilian personnel lead by example as well as demonstrate their dedication to the residents of the communities they serve. I take this opportunity to invite you to support this years awards dinner by purchasing a ticket, a table and/or by sponsoring a Fifth District MPD awardee and his/her guest. Tickets to the event are a modest $40.00 per person or $400.00 per table. In addition, there is the opportunity for you to place an advertisement in the souvenir journal that we will distribute to all who attend the event. A full page or half page advertisement in our souvenir journal will help to defray the cost of providing plaques to the awardees, of sponsoring tickets (free of charge) to the honorees and their significant others and, more generally, of covering the expenses that are associated with our rental of the host venue. Importantly, everyone who purchases an advertisement will receive a copy of the souvenir journal. The names of Patrons and Friends will be listed on pages reserved for these categories of contribution. For your convenience, I enclose an Advertisement Purchase Agreement form with this letter of appeal. As a member of the 5D CAC, it is my hope that you will welcome this opportunity to show support for the officers and civilian staff of the Fifth District MPD. On behalf of the 5DCAC, I look forward to receiving your expression of support for our Annual Awards Dinner. In this connection, please make your check payable to Fifth District Citizens Advisory Council. If you have any questions about this awards event or the contents of this letter, please feel free to contact James D. Berry, Jr., Chairman, Awards Committee, at (202) 387-8520/ jamojam@msn.com or me at (202) 230-2727/fspenn@yahoo.com. Respectfully,
