I can hardly wait for all the delicious treats well eat, like pie, cheesecake, and cheese sticks Oh, and dont forget the presents! I wonder what Ill get this year? I hope I get a giant chunk of cheese!

In una casetta nel paesino di Nazaret, viveva una ragazza che si chiamava Maria. Doveva sposarsi con un uomo buono di nome Giuseppe.

Giuseppe faceva il falegname. Un falegname uno che costruisce o che aggiusta cose fatte di legno. Un lavoro divertente, no?

In a little house in the town of Nazareth lived a young woman named Mary. Mary was going to be married to a good man named Joseph.

Joseph was a carpenter. A carpenter is someone who builds or xes things that are made out of wood. Sounds fun, doesnt it?

Un giorno a Maria successe una cosa incredibile. Un angelo del Signore and a trovarla. Chi sei? gli chiese.

Langelo le rispose: Sono Gabriele. Non avere paura, Maria. Dio ti vuole molto bene ed molto contento di te. Mi ha mandato a dirti che avrai un glio. Sar un bambino molto speciale.

One day something amazing happened to Mary. An angel of the Lord visited her. Who are you? Mary asked the angel.

The angel answered Mary and said: I am Gabriel! Dont be afraid, Mary. God loves you very much, and He is very happy with you. I have been sent by God to tell you that you will have a son. He will be a very special child.

Avr un glio? chiese lei con sorpresa. Lo chiamerai Ges. Sar un grande uomo e lo chiameranno il Figlio di Dio! disse Gabriele.

Sono unumile serva del Signore. Sia fatta la sua volont rispose Maria. Voleva fare quello che le chiedeva Dio, perch provava un grande amore per Lui.

Im going to have a son? Mary asked in surprise. Gabriel said, His name will be Jesus. He will be a great man, and will be called the Son of God!

I am Gods humble servant. May Gods will be done, Mary replied. Mary wanted to do what God was asking of her, because she loved God.

Quando si avvicin il momento in cui Maria doveva avere il bambino, le autorit mandarono i soldati ad annunciare una nuova legge:

Near the time that Mary was going to have her baby, an important ruler of that land sent his soldiers to announce a new law:

Un censimento quando un governo conta tutte le persone di un paese. I Romani lo facevano per assicurarsi che tutti pagassero le tasse. Le tasse sono i soldi che la gente deve dare al governo.

Dato che Giuseppe era di Betlemme, doveva andare a registrarsi l e doveva portare con s anche Maria. Fu cos che, dopo alcuni giorni di viaggio, arrivarono da Nazaret a Betlemme. Al loro arrivo per incontrarono un problema.

A census is when a government counts all the people in their land. The Romans did this so they could make sure people were paying their taxes. A tax is money people must pay to their government.

Bethlehem was where Joseph was from, so he had to go there to be countedand he had to take Mary too. Mary and Joseph traveled for several days from Nazareth to Bethlehem. But when they got to Bethlehem, there was a problem.

Tutti gli alberghi erano pieni! A quei tempi naturalmente non si chiamavano alberghi, ma locande. Giuseppe e Maria erano in viaggio da molto tempo ed erano stanchissimi.

Cercarono e ricercarono, ma non cera posto da nessuna parte. Maria poi stava per avere il suo bambino. Non sapevano proprio cosa fare!

All the hotels were full! Well, they werent called hotels then, they were called inns! Joseph and Mary had been traveling for a long time, so they were very tired!

They looked and looked for a place to stay, but every place was full. And now Mary was about to have her baby. They didnt know what to do!

Giuseppe buss alla porta dellultima locanda del paese, ma non cera posto neanche l. Loste, per, era una persona gentile e li aiut a trovare un buon posto, anche se un po insolito.

Non era una locanda di lusso; anzi, non era nemmeno una locanda. Era un posto in cui nessuno si sarebbe aspettato che nascesse il Figlio di Dio.

Joseph knocked on the door of one of the very last inns in town. There was no room in that inn either! But the innkeeper was a kind man, and he helped Joseph and Mary nd a good, but unusual, place to stay.

It wasnt a fancy inn. In fact, it wasnt an inn at all! It was a place where no one would have expected the Son of God to be born.

Non era un palazzo n un castello. Non era nemmeno una clinica di lusso. Il glio di Dio nacque in unumile stalla, il posto dove dormono gli animali della fattoria.

Giuseppe, Maria e il Bambino Ges restarono comodi e al caldino nella stalla che Dio aveva preparato per loro. In quella notte meravigliosa su nel cielo apparve anche una grande stella luminosa.

It wasnt a palace, or a castle. And it wasnt a big, fancy hospital either. Gods son was born in a humble stable! A stable is a building where farm animals sleep at night.

Joseph and Mary and baby Jesus were nice and warm in that little stable. God had prepared a place for them. There was also a big star shining brightly in the sky on that wonderful night!

Nearby, some shepherds were watching their sheep. Suddenly, an angel appeared in the sky and spoke to the shepherds! He said, Dont be afraid! I bring you good news!

Today a savior is born, Christ the Lord. You will nd this baby lying in a manger. Then the whole sky lled with a big crowd of angels, who were praising God and singing.

Devessere stato proprio un gran spettacolo! Gli angeli erano felici che fosse nato Ges. Appena essi se ne andarono, i pastori corsero alla stalla e trovarono Ges Bambino dentro una mangiatoia, proprio come aveva detto langelo.

Se state ad ascoltare, potete sentire anche voi la canzone degli angeli nel vostro cuore, che vi indica il cammino verso Ges. Proprio cos. Oh, come mi piace questa storia, Vispo!

That must have been quite a sight! They were so happy that Jesus had been born! When the angels left, the shepherds ran to the stable, and found Baby Jesus in the manger just like the angel had told them they would.
