ST.

COLUMBA CATHOLIC CHURCH

January 19, 2014 Second Sunday in Ordinary Time

SAN DIEGO

Thank You
TERRIFIC CHRISTMAS RESPONSE TWENTY-SEVEN FOOD BASKETS!!
After distributing 18 food baskets at Thanksgiving, the Men's Club was able to give out 27 more food baskets at Christmas. Thank you so much to every one who was able to participate with your Time, Talent, and Treasure. Your generosity and that of St. Columba Schools second grade class, Ancient Order of Hibernians, and bingo players made it all possible. Thank you all from the Mens Club of St. Columba.

Stewardship Spotlight
Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father (Colossians 3:17).

After the busy seasons of Advent and Christmas, we continue to promote Stewardship as a Way of Life and Spirituality at St. Columba Parish because this shows how we apply to life the fruits of our prayer and worship. Some practical ways to live as good stewards are the following: Observe reverence in church by the practice of prayerful silence and constant awareness that you are in a holy ground. Show warm welcoming gestures to those who attend the Mass, especially on Sundays and after the Mass in the hall. Try to greet new faces and make them feel at home in our parish. Participate in the Mass with full attention and respond to prayers and sacred music. Show concern for the orderliness of the church by returning the missalettes, songbooks and prayer cards to their proper places after the Mass. No matter how little is your contribution is, use your offering envelopes (unless you do electronic giving) as a gesture of giving back to God for all the blessings you have received.
