What brought you to Vanguard? I was looking for some place that could
offer lots of opportunities and career development. I also liked the team
based environment. I remember thinking during the interview that this
would be a perfect fit. I have not been disappointed.
What are some of your hobbies? I enjoy traveling, listening to music,
reading books, roller-skating and Kick-boxing!
What do you like best at Vanguard? The people, the projects, the
opportunities.... and good work-life balance. It's a great place to work.
What technologies do you work with at Vanguard? DB2, SQL, Quick
Test Professional for automation, Quality Center and a variety of
Project Management and People Management tools.
What business skills and knowledge have you refined through working at
Vanguard? I have had the opportunity to continue to develop my

What brought you to Vanguard? Integrity of the company and the
unquestioned priority placed on the client in decisions. While searching
for a job in the last months of my master’s degree a friend asked me to
join him to a job interview at Vanguard. They had asked him about
several technologies I was familiar with when he was at a job fair in
Atlanta. So, I came along with him to Charlotte for an interview as well
and took the job offer.
What are some of your hobbies?
Playing with my kids, golf, fishing, travel
What do you like best at Vanguard? The variety of work options that is
available.
What technologies do you work with at Vanguard? Java, Unix, Windows,
DB2, Oracle and several COTS products.
Sean Hardwick What business skills and knowledge have you refined through working at
Technology Specialist Vanguard? Communication and presentation skills have been a great
growth area for me. The opportunity to interact with large diverse groups
has helped me in this area.

Carolina Alumni in Charlotte

USC has a strong presence in the Charlotte Metropolitan area. The Charlotte chapter of the Carolina Alumni
Association is a great way to meet fellow Alumni, Gamecock fans, and stay in touch with the University of South
Carolina. In addition to hosting local luncheons for members, the club also conducts group outings to Gamecock
home games along with the local chapter of the Gamecock Clubs of Charlotte and York County. Furthermore, the
