FollowingweeksofnegativeliberalattacksonGovernorMartinez,sheemergesunscathedand
asformidableasever.InanApril30May1statewidesurvey,GovernorMartinezmaintainsa
62%jobapprovalrating.ThisratingisidenticaltoourJanuary2014ratingandisessentially
unchangedsinceGovernorMartinezassumedofficein2011whenherjobapprovalratingwas
59%followingherfirstlegislativesession(March2011).
Martinezcontinuestobewellregardedacrossthepoliticalspectrum,including72%
approvalamongIndependentsand51%amongsoftDemocrats.
Thereisnogendergapinherjobapprovalrating63%approvalamongmenand62%
approvalamongwomen,includinga58%approvalratingamongHispanicwomen.
Amonghighinterestvotersthoseratingan810onatenpointelectioninterest
scaleMartinezsapprovalratingisthesame62%.
GovernorMartinezholdsa63%personalfavorablerating,alsounchangedsinceJanuary,
furtherunderscoringthefailureoftherecentpersonalattacksontheGovernorscharacter.
DespiteattemptsfromtheLefttosmeartheGovernor,NewMexicosvotersremainsupportive
ofMartinezandherdedicationtoreformorientedpoliciesthataremovingthestateforward.
Methodology
PublicOpinionStrategiesconductedatelephonesurveyof500likelyvotersonApril30May1,
2014.Thesurveyhasamarginoferrorof+4.38%.Thesurveyincluded25%ofallinterviews
conductedbycellphone.Thesamplemirroredthepartisancompositionofthe2010general
election.
