First Street and Channing Street, NW
DC Water and Mayor Vincent C. Gray invite you to attend the groundbreaking for the
First Street Tunnel, a critical step forward in the efort to alleviate fooding in the
Bloomingdale and LeDroit Park neighborhoods.
Please join us to celebrate the start of this accelerated project and the construction of
two other stormwater mitigation measures already in operation, the McMillan
Stormwater Storage Project and the Irving Street Green Infrastructure Project.

Limited onsite parking is available on First Street.
Vehicle access will be from the intersection of First
Street, NW and Michigan Avenue. There is also
pedestrian access on First Street walking south from
Michigan Avenue or north from Bryant Street.
