What starts out as a typical collaborative effort

between two writers quickly transforms into
something else entirely, as the text of Paul Rizza
Reinvents the Ebook becomes an editorial
battleground on the very site of the work itself.
Without any sort of preliminary outline, Theo
Thimo and Paul Rizza begin contributing to a piece
that gradually becomes concerned chiefly with its
own creation more than anything, even containing
selfreferential reviews (see: this current paragraph).
It's a behindthescenes DVD featurette, minus the
actual film. Discussions and suggested guidelines
over form and content find their way intact into the
body of the writing, and as the hubristic promise of
the title looms perpetually over the document, the
two distinct personalities alternately embarrass,
encourage, and sabotage each other, all in full view
ofabewilderedandveryattractiveaudience.
