RE: SURVEY OF VOTERS IN IOWAS SECOND CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT

DATE: AUGUST 11, 2014
____________________________________________________________________________________

The Tarrance Group is pleased to present the following findings from our recently completed survey on behalf of
Republican nominee for U.S. Congress Mariannette Miller-Meeks. The Tarrance Group was commissioned to
conduct a telephone survey of N=400 registered likely voters for the upcoming election for U.S. Congress. A
random sample of this type is likely to yield a margin of error of +4.9% in 95 out of 100 cases. Responses to the
survey were gathered August 3-5, 2014.

With so much political activity in Iowa during this upcoming election, the race for Congress in the Second
Congressional District should not get lost in the shuffle. Today, the congressional ballot is literally too close to call,
with Loebsack well below 50%. Further, only 28% of voters in the district believe that Loebsack deserves to be re-
elected to office, while a 52% majority would prefer a new person in office. Challenger Mariannette Miller-Meeks
is poised to be part of the new freshman class coming to Washington next year.

Deserves re-election 28%
Unsure/depends on opponent 20%
New person 52%
