RE: KEY FINDINGS FROM A SURVEY OF VOTER ATTITUDES IN
MASSACHUSETTS SIXTH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT

The Tarrance Group is pleased to present Tisei Congressional Committee and the
National Republican Congressional Committee with the key findings from a survey of
voter attitudes in Massachusetts 6
th
Congressional District. These key findings are based
on telephone interviews with N=400 likely registered voters throughout the district.
Responses to this survey were gathered September 23-25, 2014 and the margin of error
associated with a sample of this type is + 4.9% in 95 out of 100 cases.


KEY FINDINGS

! Republican nominee Richard Tisei holds a +1 point lead over Democrat Seth
Moulton on the trial ballot test for Congress. Forty-one percent (41%) indicate they
would vote for Tisei, while 40% would vote for Moulton, 9% would vote for the
Independent candidate, and 10% are undecided.

! Tiseis partisan intensity among Republicans is +8 points higher than Moultons
partisan intensity among Democrats, and Tisei holds a solid +18 point lead on the
ballot test among Independent voters.

! Tisei is very well established with voters in the district. His name awareness is
already up at eighty-nine percent (10 points higher than Moultons) and he stands
with a forty-nine percent (49%) favorable and 23% unfavorable rating for a very solid
2.1 to 1 favorable to unfavorable ratio.

! The political environment in the district also favorable to Tisei as almost half of
district voters, forty-eight percent (48%) indicate that they disapprove of the job that
