called” the use of lateral thinking”

 “you can dig a hole in a different place
by digging the same hole deeper”

Lateral Thinking

The most comprehensive exposition of de Bono's


techniques for generating creative ideas was published in his
1992 book, Serious Creativity.

 His work "The Mechanism of Mind" is the basis for his


theories
Games
Edward de Bono invented a simple game as a challenge, called
the L Game, that requires strategy to win.

 'Concept Snap', which requires participants to think of ways in


which different objects can be used to perform similar functions.

 He does contend that what is learned from games tends not to


be transferred to thinking in real life.
AWARDS

1992:-
Edward-De-Bono was awarded as a
“key pioneer” in the direct teaching of
thinking in schools.

1994:-
“Pioneer prize in the field of thinking” at
the international conference on
thinking at MIT in Boston.

“Order of Merit” by Malta govrnment.
This is the highest level award which is
limited to only 20 living persons.

1998:-
“First Capire prize” in Madrid for a
significant contribution to humankind.

the greatest thinkers (WDR, Germany)

work spans from teaching 7yr old to
senior executives in the world largest
corporations.

His name has became a symbol of


creativity and new thinking.
