The resulting 40,000 square foot facility, housing the Learning Commons, Visual Arts, and written communications programs will be a ‘tremendous asset to your campus. BSC has been a vital institution to the Bismarck-Mandan communities and western central North Dakota for 75 years. Recognizing that fact and celebrating it will do much to continue the presence of your institution in this area. My only caution is that you keep in mind the recent events wherein institutions are financially obligated for foundations’ commitments. I do believe that your funding model for this will ensure that doesn’t happen, but i’s worth keeping in mind as you finalize any agreements, Student Union It's good to hear that the Student Union expansion and renovation project remains on schedule and on budget. Besides entancing dining and bookstore services, the added student activites, social, and study spaces will go along way to meeting the expectations of your students, The $9 milion project wll be a huge benefit to your students and the BSC community Financial Condition Congratulations to you and your financial team for the clean audits and excellent financial situation you've achieved at BSC. An increase of 31.4% in your unrestricted net assets is a commendable accomplishment, particulary at atime where you've experienced enrollment challenges. The clean audits and the increase in your unrestricted net assets evidences strong financial good stewardship, Dakota Prairie Refining Workforce Training (fall things our North Dakota University System institutions must be, being responsive to ‘business and industry needs is among the most important. Your partnership with the Dakota Prairie Refinery to tain process operators isan excellent example of such responsiveness.
