How to Become a Faithful and Wise Servant

Matthew 24:45-51 – Read through. v. 45 – we are servants.

What are some options for serving God?


Luke 17:7-10 – v. 7 some servants plow and some look after sheep. Five options:
Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, Teacher
Apostle – both, Prophet – both, Evangelist – plow, Pastor – look after, Teacher – look after
Evangelists (plow), be apostles (do both), or be pastors or teachers (look after sheep).
But when we come in we must all prepare God’s supper

1 cor 15:10 – how to do it


Mat 24:45 – in charge of others and giving food at proper time
John 4:27-38 – food is will and work of God.

Reaped benefits of others labor – great cloud of witnesses, prayers of saints.

Mat 10:25 – become like God (goodness)
Eph 1:17-18 – to know him better (knowledge)
James 1:22-25 – do what you’ve learned (self-control), 1 cor 9:27, 1 peter 5:8, 2 tim 1:7
1 tim 4:16 – persevere in a closely watched life and doctrine to save yourself and others
(perseverance)
Eph 5:1 – imitate God (godliness)

Increasing measure – should I possess more knowledge than faith? By measure yes – faith
as small as a mustard seed (Mat 17:20)
Should I possess more love than knowledge? Yes – knowledge puffs up but love builds up
