KESSLER ENDORSES BERNIE SANDERS FOR PRESIDENT

Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate Jeff Kessler endorsed Bernie Sanders today for President,
saying he shares Senator Sanders focus on putting working families before corporate interests.
I can relate to what its like to take on the billionaires and millionaires while fighting for the
people, said Kessler. Ive spent my years of elected public service fighting for the lower and
middle class, fighting the influence of dark money in the campaign process, and have made full
funding for education and free or assisted community college a priority of my campaign.
Let me be clear. I salute the good work Secretary Clinton has done for decades but Im more
attuned with Senator Sanders as were both taking on the establishment, the insiders, and those
who most benefit from controlling the wheels of government. Senator Sanders believes that the
system is rigged in favor of millionaires and billionaires, and Im fighting the same battle in my
race for Governor. I believe both Senator Sanders and I will win with the help of good,
hardworking West Virginians.
Kessler says the divisiveness that has plagued us on a national level has become prevalent here in
West Virginia, and its time to bring our country and state together.
The first 30 days of the legislative session have been filled with radical, reckless and
contentious issues being driven by out of state interests that are controlling the agenda. The
attacks have been levied against organized labor in an effort to drive down wages of West
Virginia workers; against lawyers and the 7th amendment in an effort to eliminate your ability to
seek justice in the courts; against property owners through forced pooling and nuisance

immunity legislation that give corporations the ability to destroy and take your property, and
against the LGBT community and other minorities by promoting policies that legalize and
promote discrimination, Kessler said.
We can not allow our leaders to divide us. We need to stand together, as West Virginians, and
demand that our leaders work for all of us not just the privileged few. We will never be able to
transform and diversify our economy until we focus on investing in our people and our
infrastructure. Thats what my campaign is about.
