The discussion for Tabitha’s Summer Book of
the Month, Nothing But Drama by Reshonda
Tate Billingsley was rescheduled for Saturday,
August 7 at 10:00 am in the Felloship Hall. The
discussion of this book will be done with the
teens of Peace Baptist Church. The discussion
promises to be lively and educational for both
the teen girls and the adult women. Please join
us, even if you were unable to complete the
book.
Big Give Back to School Bash

This year school supplies will be distributed
during the 2010 Community Health Fair. Start
bringing the following supplies:
-Filler paper (wide and college rule)
-1 subject theme notebooks

Interfaith Specialist Training. In this highly
diverse culture we need to educate Christian
people about the beliefs and practices of other
faiths. It is incumbent for believers to have
some understanding of other people groups and
faith groups to minimize misconceptions and to
enhance personal relationships.The program’s
objective spotlights on religious barriers that
hinder Christian’s effort to reach others with the

Men’s Choir Rehearsal

All Men of Peace ages 18 and older, who wish
to sing with our Men’s Choir on 4th Sunday
August 22nd, are welcomed to come out to
Choir Rehearsal on Thursday, August 19th at
7pm in the Sanctuary. The Men will minister in
song for each worship service that Sunday.

Family Fun Day
> > September 25, 2010 @ North Georgia
State Fair from 10am-4pm
This year Family Fun Day will be held at North
Georgia State Fair; Jim R. Miller Park, 2245
Callaway Road, Marietta, GA 30008. The cost
is $6.50 Adults and $2.50 Children (7-16).
Pre-sale tickets include entrance, food and one
raffle ticket per adult. Big Giveaway will be one
22” Flatscreen TV. Additional raffle tickets are
$1 each. There is a $2 fee for parking. Rides
are an additional cost; $11 for 22 tickets (7-11
rides) or $20 for Unlimited Rides. DEADLINE
to get your ticket at the above price is August
29th. After August 29th the prices will be $8.50
Adults and $2.50 for Children (7-16). Activities
will include a cake contest (register before
September 12th), Pie Eating Contest, Bingo,
Men vs Women: Hula Hoop, Jump Rope
and Limbo. Tug of war will be held Sunday,
September 26th, 2010, following the 11:15
service on the softball field.

HEALTH CORNER
August is National Immunization Month
August is recognized as National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM). The goal of NIAM
is to increase awareness about immunizations across the life span, from infants to the elderly.
August is the perfect time to remind family, friends, co-workers, and those in the community
to catch up on their vaccinations. Parents are enrolling their children in school, students are
entering college, and healthcare workers are preparing for the upcoming flu season.

Grocery Relief Initiative Program
Feed the Need is launching a Grocery Relief Initiative Program (GRIP) in conjunction with
ANGEL FOOD MINISTRIES, right here @ Peace. That’s right...an economical way to reduce
your grocery budget and still get quality meals--meats, fresh fruit and vegetables are available
in a variety of boxes at an affordable price. To learn more about The G.R.I.P., please stop by
the info tables in the lobby to ask questions, place an order or join the team.
Feed The Need is looking for YOU to volunteer your Time, Talents and
Treasures in helping with S.O.S. (Supporting our Seniors, Sick and Shut-Ins)
In the areas involving but not limited to: landscaping, maintenance, light
construction, installation, repair, housekeeping, hauling, dietary consultants,
barber and beauticians as well as companions. Note: if you or someone you know are in need
of these services please call for an evaluation appointment so that we may meet your needs
to the best of our ability.

Peace Mass Choir
The Voices of Peace Mass Choir is always open to receive new choir members! We welcome
persons ages 18 and older. *In order to join, you must be a member of Peace, or at least a
new member attending Membership classes. Rehearsals are held on Thursdays before 1st &
3rd Sundays at 7:00pm.

Join Celebrate Recovery Friday night at 7:00Pm in room 100 for a time of Fellowship and
support. Celebrate Recovery is a 12-step Christ-centered program designed to help those
struggling with hurts, habits and hang-ups by showing them the loving power of Jesus Christ

Psalms 100:4

The worship service at Peace begins with an Opening Prayer of thanksgiving that sets the
tone for Praise and Worship. The choir typically sings the latest gospel praise songs.
However, they will also occasionally go “old school” with some foot stomping hymns. The
ministerial staff will then Recognize the Visitors and briefly share the Announcements
for the week. First time visitors will receive a visitor’s DVD that has more information on the
church, a welcome message from our pastor, a sample sermon and video clips from various Pastor Tyrone Barnette
Peace events. Worship will continue with members giving their Tithes and Offerings. The
choir then offers up more praise through Song as the congregation prepares their hearts for
the Word. The Sermons are life application, biblically based teachings that are oftentimes

illustrated through impromptu demonstrations and skits. Pastor Barnette can have you Peace Baptist Church Service Times
laughing, crying, and repenting all in the span of 30 minutes. At the end of the Sermon, the

congregation will be asked to make a Decision for Salvation for those who want to give
