"Intemational ADD eration Memorandum of Understanding between the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and CNS Diabetes Media Initiative (CNS-DMI) ‘This is a Memorandum of Understanding between the International Diabetes Federation (IDE) and CNS Diabetes Media Initiative (CNS-DMD: To acknowledge the commitment of the Jnternational Diabetes Federation (IDF) and CNS Diabetes Media Initiative to scale up documentation, reporting and online information exchange, dialogue and news monitoring services on issues related to diabetes-care ‘To acknowledge the technical and informational support CNS Diabetes Media Initiative receives from International Diabetes Federation (IDF) to build capacity and knowledge of its correspondents and partners, and generate reliable information on diabetes-care ‘To promote the spirit of collaboration and genuine partnership between the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and CNS Diabetes Media Initiative and other parttiers to scale up communications and strategic messaging on diabetes care ‘To synergise on long term ~ and moving beyond short-term spotlight on diabetes on World Diabetes Day — by recognizing other strategic opportunities for enhanced quality dialogue, documentation, reporting ot advocacy on issues related to diabetes care on daily basis ~ like World Health Day, World TB Day, World No Tobacco Day, International Women’s Day and other such ‘opportunities (days, events, etc). To work towards engaging broader civil society in the UNGASS on non- communicable diseases (NCD) process, to document voices of NCD affected communities and raise them at such forums on an ongoing basis To promote partnership, sharing and complementarity, rather than competition, territoriality and rivalry To forge really meaningful partnerships on diabetes such as those which increases mutual accountability and transparency between partners CNS Diabetes Media Initiative (CNS-DMI) commits to the core objectives of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF)~ and its mission is in line with, to complement and to support the global leadership role IDF is providing by: + Increase awareness of diabetes and its public health consequences. + Promote identification of reasons for the increased prevalence of diabetes. + Reduce diabetes morbidity and mortality. + Improve management of diabetes. + Improve availability and accessibility of effective diabetes care treatment facilites. ‘Signed by: a TeV eiwmos Sten Getwavalag On behalf of Jittima Jantanamalaka International Diabetes Federation -IDF —_ Director, CNS Diabetes Media Initiative
