THE NARROW GATE TO REAL LIFE
Seniors’ Club

The wisdom of the world is one of power, pleasure,
possessions and prestige. The world teaches us to have
control over life, enjoying its pleasures, accumulating

Open House
The Grief & Bereavement Support Group is having an
Open House brunch on Sunday, August 29th, from
10:00 am-1:00 pm. Please stop by and meet the team.
We would like to invite all who have attended the group
in the past so we can say hello and ask how you are
doing. There are many ways to grieve and many things
to grieve about. We are here to help not only those who
have lost a loved one in death, but rather a support
group for anyone who needs help during a rough time.
Month of the Rosary
Holy Spirit Parish, 2725 55th Street, is offering
its Garden of God’s Love and God’s Forgiveness
as a place to come and pray the Rosary during
the month of October. It is open 24 hours, every
day. The south wall of the church contains the
entire rosary in ceramic tile, designed by a local
artist. The Hail Mary is written in 40 languages. A
Tree of Forgiveness is planted in the garden. At
the base of the tree were placed all the names of all the priests
from San Diego to Los Angeles. It has become a place where
many great gifts have been given to many people. There is
also an Adoration Chapel. For information, call 619-262-2435.
Special Collection
Next Sunday, August 29th, there will be a special
collection for the Missionary Cooperation Plan. We
are all called to be missionaries, too! Missionaries all
over the world and those whom they serve will benefit
directly from your financial gifts.
Deep Pit BBQ
Sunday, September 5th
Our Lady of Light Church is 32 miles outside of
San Diego in Descanso, CA. The barbecue
includes live entertainment, vendors, a raffle with
prizes and great pit-roasted beef. Admission is

All parishioners 50+ are invited to join the St. Columba
Seniors Club. Each month we have luncheons in the
church hall on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays. It’s a nice
way to meet other church seniors and enjoy a day out.
You also get top-notch entertainment.

R.C.I.A. (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults): For adults
