Folk Down the Track

The aim of Folk Down The Track is to encourage people to have a good
night out down the Heart of Wales Railway line using local community
pubs and musicians in the Welsh Marches. It is part of a wider slow travel
movement that is spreading throughout Europe.

The travel arrangements are simple! We travel down the Heart of Wales
line by train from Shrewsbury at 1805. We catch the train back after 2100
hours arriving back in Shrewsbury at 2206. You can board the train at
Church Stretton, Craven Arms, Broome, Hopton Heath and Bucknell
stations (plus Knighton for Knucklas events). There are connections at
Craven Arms with trains to and from Ludlow, Leominster and Hereford.

The band will be playing at the pub venue shown below. There is no
charge but you’ll need rail fare and drinks/food money … we intend to
pass the hat around for the band. Musicians -bring your instrument if you
want to join in the music!! There will be bar food available at each pub.
Please do not come by car unless you cannot reasonably reach a suitable
railway station!
