Local Food production and
consumption forms a central part
of the East Lothian Council Single
Outcome Agreement
The Single Outcome Agreement defines how East
Lothian Council will achieve the ‘National Outcomes’
set out by the Scottish Government.
The 2009 SOA only makes a brief mention of food but
local food production and consumption has a
significant role to play in achieving many of the
outcomes around the themes of enterprise, health,
education, inequality, environment and community.
We will work with the East Lothian Community
Planning Partnership to ensure that this is written
into the next SOA which is currently being developed.
