We nurture a realization that is Holistically
Earth-Friendly, allowing Spirit to guide our
Spiritual Community in the regeneration of our
bodies, mind, spirit and environment.

GENERAL TIPS & RESOURCES
Environmental concerns for our planet home are complex
and diverse, as are the many views regarding possible
courses of action. These resources reflect how world
consciousness is expressing in the physical realm today
including in our own Spiritual Community. We know that at
the level of Spirit all is well and whole, and at the same
time there is more unfolding to do in the expression of this
Spirit of wholeness. We believe it is valuable to be aware of
what is happening in the world and what people think
when considering our own actions. We do this so that we
can together discern the steps we want to take to be part of

of a holistic-earth friendly approach to daily
living that honors the very essence of Unity’s
practical teachings.
We will accomplish this through:

As a community, we have embarked on getting
EarthCare Certification through Unity Worldwide
Ministries. EarthCare Certification means that as
a Unity congregation, we are leading the path to
a more Green Conscious community.

THE “PATH” TO EARTHCARE
We have embarked on this Seven-Step Path because it recognizes spiritual commitment
and visioning as essential parts of reaching our goals.
Pray
Our consciousness of God opens the way for ideas, inspira-
tion, and guidance. To begin EarthCare in a ministry, we
are creating a consciousness for the work through prayer.
Prayer guides this program to its own unique expressions
of caring for creation.
Vision
We nurture a more holistically earth friendly awareness as
an integral part of expressing the vision of Unity on the
Bay as a “prosperous, expanding spiritual community of
God’s light, love and peace radiating the Unity message
globally.”
Inspire
With inspiration, our prayers and vision begin to move
into outer expression. We inspire care of the earth by
including an earth focus in our activities, such as Sunday
services, prayers, songs, and special ceremonies. The Truth
that God is everywhere present in Creation then becomes
alive in people’s minds and hearts, and translates into
daily action.
Learn
We sponsor educational activities to open the space for
individuals and our community to explore, pray, and
discern greater understanding about complex environ-
mental topics. We communicate with our community
through our e-newsletter, Sunday bulletin, and our blog.
Take Action
To express loving care for the earth requires a commit-
ment of time, energy, and money. The specific actions
taken will depend on the needs and vision of the commu-
nity. The activities may be simple or complex, contained
solely within the ministry, or reach out into the broader
community. We will work to adopt sustainable lifestyle
practices. We will model and encourage individuals to
make changes in their personal lives as well.
Share
Sharing our ideas and successes through word-of-mouth,
presentations, and news media, is important for fostering
the work within our congregations and the larger
community. Networking with other groups and programs
reminds us that we are not alone in the task of caring for
creation. As we become aware of the work within Unity
and elsewhere, our common ground, Earth, becomes a
sacred home for unity. By raising awareness of our
common cause, we can unite our actions to care for
humanity and the planet that sustains us.
Renew
Every work has its seasons. There are ebbs and flows in
EarthCare work.
