    Vol. No. 12 December 1978 ‘The CURTIS COURIER is published monthly for Curtis employees. There were 90 men and women, representing a total of 905 years of service, honored at the Company’s annual service awards banquet on October 19. ‘The growth of the Company is evident by the number of people honored this year compared to 67 in 1978 and 46 in 1976. President SY SPUNT, who received his 25 - year pin, had the following comments to make to fellow honorees and their guests “The service award dinner is the Company's way of demonstrating its appreciation for your loyalty and dedicated service. T would like to extend my sincere appreciation to each employee being honored tonight for your personal devotion and effort to make Curtis ‘the company it is today. We constantly talk about Curtis as a People Company. For us at the Home Office, we take this for granted. But visitors immediately mention the attitude of our people. Since this is my 25tb year, I would like to review a few bistorical events: IN 1953 we bad 184 employees - --IN 1978 we bave 2,367 employees IN 1953, we had 6,100 square feet of space - - - IN 1978 we bave 431,000 IN 1953 we bad $2,000,000 in sales --- IN '1978 we will bave $77,000,000 in sales. We are a growth company - -~in 1953 we didn't cover the United States... in 1978, we are a multinational company with Canadian and United Kingdom facilities and ship merchandise to some 50 countries around the world. ‘My goal is $100,000,000 in sales by 1981. With you and our fellow associates we can accomplish ‘his goal and tus, provide all of us with the many benefits which come from the attainment of our HONOR ROLL 25 YEARS.
