Uns anos depois que

Deus criou a Terra, Ele

viu que as pessoas
tinham se tornado muito
más. Elas faziam
maldades, roubavam e
até se matavam umas às
outros. Isso deizou Deus
muito triste.

Many years after God had

created the earth, God saw
that people had become
very evil. People
everywhere were hurting
each other, stealing from
each other and even killing
each other. This made God
very sad.
Mas havia um
homem bom que se
chamava Noé. Ele
amava a Deus e
fazia o melhor que
podia para
agradar—Lhe.

But there was one

good man named
Noah, who loved God
and did his best to
please Him.
Um dia Deus disse a
Noé: —Estou muito triste
e decepcionado com a
maldade das pessoas.
Vou mandar um dilúvio
que vai cobrir a Terra
com água. Mas você e
sua família vo estar em
segurança. Precisam
fazer o seguinte...

One day God told Noah: “I

am very saddened and
disappointed to see how
evil people have become. I
am going to send a flood
that will cover the whole
earth with water. But I will
make sure that you and
your family are safe. Here
is what I want you to do…”
Noé obedeceu a Deus
atentamente e
começou a construir
um barco bem grande,
chamado Arca!
Ai aconteceu algo
surpreendente. Deus
chamou os animais de
todos os tipos para
entrar na arca!

Noah obeyed what God

told him to do, which was
to build a big boat called
an ark!
Then something amazing
happened. God called
animals of every kind to
go into the ark!
Choveu muito, mas muito mesmo. Choveu duranto 40 dias e 40 noites
sem parar. Tinha tanta água que o mundo inteiro ficou submerso!

It rained and rained and rained. It rained for 40 days and 40 nights without
stopping. There was so much water that the whole world was flooded!
Mas Noé e sua
família estavam em
segurança na Arca,
que ficou flutuando.
Noé ficou muito
feliz por ter
obedecido a Deus.

But Noah and his

family were safe in
the ark as it floated
on the waters. Noah
was very glad that he
had obeyed God.
Um tempo depois que parou de chover, Noé abriu uma janela e soltou
uma pomba para ela ir procurar terra seca. Ela foi e voltou duas vezes,
mas na terceira vez não voltou mais, porque encontrou solo firme. Noé
entendeu que em breve eles poderiam sair da Arca e viver novamente
em terra seca.

Some time after the rain had stopped, Noah

opened a window and sent out a dove to
search for dry land. Twice the dove
returned, but the third time it didn’t come
back because it had found a place to rest.
Noah knew that soon they would be able to
leave the ark and live on dry ground again.
Finalmente as
águas secaram e
todos ficaram muito
felizes no dia em
que puderam sair
da Arca! Deus
também estava feliz
e colocou no céu o
primeiro arco-íris
que existiu.

Finally, the waters

dried up. It was a
happy day when
everyone left the ark!
God was also happy
and placed the very
first rainbow in the
sky.
