Minute of Economic Development Committee of 31 May 2011 (circulated) submitted for approval as a correct record Deputations if any Motions Motion remitted from the Council of 2 June 2011 - By Councillor Child Promotion of Edinburghs Seaside Council - notes that the Marine Conservation Society's (MCS) latest 'Good Beach Guide' awards Portobello Central (James Street) the highest level award of 'MCS recommended' and also notes that seven of East Lothian's Beaches have been given Seaside Awards by Keep Scotland Beautiful this year; and - calls for a report on how the Council can secure a Seaside Award for Portobello and market and promote 'Edinburgh's Seaside' more widely within Edinburgh and beyond. Note: Councillor Child has been called for this item.
