Le third When stacked on shelves only the le third of magazine covers are visible.

This is why all important informa on is displayed in this sector such as the tle of the magazine and the price.

My Hyperbolic words deni on Hyperbolic, the word used for exaggerated, is used throughout all soap opera magazines covers. SHOCK, REVENGE, BIG DRAMA all these words could be less drama c but this would not a ract poten al audiences. This is why, in such a erce market, all soap magazine covers will use Hyperbolic words. The Dateline is usually located by the master head. Master head TV Choice makes the magazine sound like the specialists in the eld of gossip. This, in its huge white wri ng and outlined with the red background doesn't just grab the viewers a en on but conrms this is the correct choice to make. Price tag Usually wri en in front of some eye catching background (orange star in this case) the price of these magazines are always low and covered in slogans such as BEST VALUE!, wri en in pink which suggest the creators are targe ng a female audience. In this case the price is wri en twice, both in the le third, in turn this magazine is really highligh ng it is cheap!

Main image The main image usually takes up the majority of the cover. It will o en be pictures of the characters but on rare occasions will vary into shots of an event (a car crash for example.)

Main cover I personally feel the main cover is the most important part for the cover of a soap opera magazine. Wedding SHOCK. sets up the storyline but s ll leaves the narra ve open en cing the audience to purchase the magazine so they can read more about the plot. The bold yellow wri ng outlined with black is a commonly used conven on for Main covers and the use of capital le ers on important words SHOCK automa cally makes the cover more drama c.

BARCODE!

Smaller cover lines The smaller cover lines are almost a bonus from the main cover. If the purchaser doesn't watch the main cover soap the magazine s ll has poten al by showing these bonus headline stories. Words like aair, quits, revenge all grabs the audiences a en on; this is helped by their bold colours outlined in black. Once again each picture is o the character but also can change if an event meets headlines standards.
