To whom it may concern, At Chelmer Valley High School we run both AS and A2 Media Studies and students have to write, direct and edit their own films as part of their AS and A2 coursework. At present our A2 students are currently looking to film a new soap opera trailer, as well as produce a soap opera poster and magazine front cover. Students are encouraged to make these products as professional as possible, including finding film locations outside of school. At present we have a group who are looking to set their soap opera in a higher learning establishment, to attract an age group of students aged 17+ to their piece. As Head of Media Studies, I write to ask your permission if my students could film in your higher education establishment. The name of your college will not be included in their actual filming, however it can be credited if you so wish. The film will be uploaded onto You Tube, with private viewings only, meaning that only those sent a link to the work can watch it. The college will be shown in a positive light and you will have full rights to watch to it prior to us publishing it onto You Tube. The group would need to film from Thursday 1 st December 2011 to Monday 5th December 2011 and would do this during the day at a time convenient for you. If you give permission for my group of students to film at your college, please reply to the email address at the bottom of the page. We look forward to hearing from you.
