GABLES
Gable: A roof design where two sections pitched at the same angle meet at a point in the center of the span

Quick Facts
Can rise from 4 to 8 feet from low point to high point Include one central connection at the peak Gables require symmetrical foundations and thus fit better on rectangular or square slabs Can be constructed freestanding, attached, or in combination with our aluminum solid roof products

Gable Hips:
This roof style incorporates a raised central peak area with a hip at each end angling down to a wall which remains level all the way around

Traditionally, gables have been pitched at 17 degrees. However, we adjust the angle upward to 20 degrees or more to provide for just the right amount of pitch

Gable hips are the most economical raised roof pool enclosure design available. The horizontal wall makes the design streamlined and low profile

Here you can see the hip end of the gable and how it angles down to the end wall. The angle from the peak to the wall is roughly 35 degrees

This is a view of the hip end of the gable from the side. The screen in these panels is slightly curved as it is drawn taut between the frame

This design has four angled corners, which soften the look of the hip.

True Gables This design incorporates a raised central peak area that is preserved all the way to the end wall on each side.

Though not right in every circumstance, true gable enclosures are a stylish and attractive alternative to a gable hip, at a similar cost.

All Custom Aluminum uses only the finest materials available. We do not use discount or factory second aluminum, not once, not ever

True gable end walls rise up to a central point which is level with the main peak. These walls will typically rise to 12 or more depending on the starting height. The angle can vary from 17 to 30 degrees

MANSARDS
Mansard: A roof design composed of three pieces where the two outer pieces rise at 30 degrees to a central, raised flat area.

Generally rise about 4 to 5 feet from low point

to high point Include one connection at each high point Because the raised area of a mansard roof sits level, it is generally more adaptable to atypically shaped foundations Can be constructed freestanding, attached, or in combination with our aluminum solid roof products Provides greater interior volume than gable Tends not to frame area under central peak

Pine Straw
If you have an abundance of pine trees near your pool you should consider upgrading to a smaller mesh screen in the roof to prevent the majority of the pine needles from protruding through the screen. You can choose from a variety of alternatives including 20X20 mesh and Bettervue increased visibility mesh screening .

HALF MANSARDS
Half Mansard: A roof design which projects horizontally, usually from a high fascia, before sloping at 30 degrees to an end wall.

If the pool deck is not rectangular, or includes extra patio space , it may be necessary to delineate the smaller space from the main roof area by utilizing a flat section. This option preserves the look of the main roof area.

Flat Sections and Transom Walls

The thing about pool enclosures is, unlike most conventional construction techniques, the structural elements that support the room also define it. So anything that breaks up the orderly arrangement of supports, such as a projection or uneven fascia, can detract from the design. Flat sections and Transoms solve these problems.
In situations where two or more fascias or rooflines of different heights are enclosed it may be necessary to construct a transom screen wall to bring the differing heights to the same level.

SOLID POOL ENCLOSURES

Solid Pool Enclosure: Any pool enclosure constructed with impervious roof and walls. Can be glass, polycarbonate, or vinyl.
