What We Have Learned This Week: When we arrived at the high school on
Tuesday morning, I had no idea what we were in store for. The Auburn High School students involved with the production of Cinderella are the most talented group of young men and women I have ever seen!!! I just cant say enough about how amazing the play was! I highly recommend that you go see it this weekend, if you havent already! Wow! We have been super-busy working on market products this week! It is all slowly, but surely coming along. We have made a TON of boomerangs and didgeridoos. We went through a lot of trial and error with the dilly bags, but I think weve figured it out the most efficient way of making them. Next week, we will continue making dilly bags and start on Ngaka Ngaka (tic-tac-toe games). Not only have we been busy making products, but our newly opened bank, The Muny Backe, has had a tremendous amount of business!! Each day, the children record how many pennies they earn in their bank books. What an excellent life lesson at such a young age hard work truly pays off!! Have I mentioned that we have caterpillars in our room??? About a week and a half ago, 5 tiny caterpillars arrived in the mail. We have watched as those itty bitty caterpillars have eaten their way into big, fat caterpillars. Within the last two days, they have all spun their chrysalises and will soon become beautiful Painted Lady butterflies!

At first glance, Im sure you noticed the many, many dates on this newsletter. As our kindergarten year comes to an end , we have so many fun, memorable activities for you and your child to enjoy, one being our week-long Australian Market. On the back of this newsletter, you will find a schedule that explains when your child will be shopping and working during market week. Please understand that we do not expect you to attend each of these days. We planned market this way so that you would have multiple opportunities to come and see your child as they participate in the Australian Market. You may also notice that the School House Rocks Program (10:00-11:00) and the Australia Exhibition (11:00- 12:00) both take place on Thurs., May 10th (which is also one of our designated market days). These two important events will showcase SO much of what your child has learned this year! We would love to have you at market, and please come if you can, but we understand what awesome, busy parents you are. So, if you have to make a choice about what to attend, then please make plans to come to AEEC on Thursday, May 10th, as this will be the most eventful day of the week.

A Busy Time of Year
