Pastors Corner ~
THE HOLY TRINITY
Today is the Solemnity of the Holy Trinity: God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This is the greatest mystery of God. In the field of religion, only theologians are interested in explaining what a mystery is. Ordinary people do not care to know and study the mysteries of God. They simply accept and believe what the bible says about God. But even if we dont really comprehend Gods mystery, the Holy Trinity teaches us many lessons in our ordinary life, aside from the divine truths about salvation. First, the Trinity teaches us unity in diversity. The three Persons of God are distinct from each other and yet they form one and the same God. Secondly, the Trinity is a community of persons that is the model of communal life. A community is composed of many different people performing different roles and tasks for the good of the whole body. The Trinity is the three divine Persons sharing life and love eternally. The Holy Trinity is the center of our faith and life. We were made by God the Trinity, sustained by the Trinity and we hope to live forever with the Holy Trinity. God the Trinity is our origin, the principle of our existence and our destiny. Glory be to God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, now and through all eternity, Amen.
