Re: Recent Polling Results

The results of our recent poll of Hawaii Democratic Primary voters show that Congresswoman Mazie
Hirono is in a strong position to become the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate. She currently receives
a majority of the vote and holds a double-digit lead over former Congressman Ed Case.

Hirono Supported By the Majority of Voters
Hirono holds a substantial 15% lead over Case in the Democratic Primary race for U.S. Senate. She
receives a majority of the vote (53%), while Case receives 38%, and 10 are undecided. Hirono's lead
is larger than the number of undecided primary voters.
If the August 2012 Democratic primary election for Senate was held today, and the
candidates were . (names rotated), for whom would you vote? (!f don't know)
Which candidate do you lean toward?*

Difference +15
Mazie Hirono 53

This memo covers the results of our research: 488 interviews with likely 2012 Democratic Primary voters
in Hawaii. All participants were registered to vote, had voted in the 2006, 2008, or 2010 primary election
or registered after the 2010 primary, and were screened to ensure they are likely to vote in the 2012
Democratic Primary. The interviews were conducted June 19-21, 2012, with live callers. The margin of
