1 IPS Lock description
IPS Lock is an application from the IPS Phone Config Suite and enables these functionalities:
- IP Phone Locking
- PIN Code change
- Call History Cleanup

Simply calling the IPS Lock service on an IP Phone will lock it. The phone can then only be
used for emergency or internal calls depending on the Lock class of service (Calling Search
Space) defined by an administrator.

When locked the IP Phone can still receive calls at the same line number. The lock works
with a user assigned to an IP Phone or in Extension Mobility Mode. IPS Locks recognizes the
End User ID automatically.

When locking the first time the end user may be asked to enter his PIN code, to make sure
he knows it.

To lock the phone, the end user calls the IPS Lock service from the Services button or a
Service URL button. To unlock a Phone, the end user calls again the service and is asked to
enter his PIN code.

When the phone is locked it is possible to display an icon (by default a padlocker) on the
background or the line text label is updated with a prefix or postfix.

IPS Lock also offers a way to update the PIN code from the IP Phone.

It is possible to erase the Calls History when the phone is locked or schedule times when it
is automatically going to be deleted. (For instance during a lunch break and at the end of
the day)

Available functions are selected by the administrator.

IPS Lock IP Phone interface is available in French, English, German, and Spanish.
The administration interface is available in English and French.

The lock is done by changing the Phone or the Line’s Calling Search Space.
Either the same Locking Calling Search Space is applied to all the Phones or we apply a
Calling Search Space without the one selected by adding a suffix (_Lock for example).

When using IPS Lock with Extension Mobility, IPS Lock will remove Mobility logout service
when the IP Phone is locked to avoid login out a locked phone.

It is possible to lock the IP Phone automatically after a defined idle time by calling IPS Lock
with a specific parameter, from the IP Phone’s Idle URL.
