Focusing on family law, criminal law, and entertainment law, the firm also offers service to the veteran population. Thomas Mengesha served his country in the United States Army from 1983 to 2009, attaining the rank of Captain.
During a military career spanning more than 25 years, Thomas Mengesha worked closely with the Army’s human resources (HR) division, where his job entailed oversight of personnel accounting operations, unit-level casualty operations, personnel readiness matters, and general HR management programs. Over the course of his military training, Thomas Mengesha developed problem-solving and managerial skills that helped him to make the transition to civilian life and begin a successful career.
Deployed to Kuwait several times, Thomas Mengesha served as a Captain and Deputy Director for the United States Central Command (USCENTCOM) Rest & Recuperation Leave Program. In this position, he managed all strategic aspects of the program and helped to develop new protocols and policies. He also filled the role of Coalition Forces Land Component Command Liaison with USCENTCOM, the United States Army Headquarters, and the Human Resources Command. From 2007 to 2008, Thomas Mengesha taught Business Law and Business Ethics as Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland University College.
Thomas Mengesha's commitment and work ethic have earned him numerous honors and awards, such as the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, places on the Honor Roll and Dean's list at Thomas M. Cooley Law School, and the 1991 University of South Carolina Outstanding Service Award.view less
