-The Problem Statement Should be Exciting which keeps you engrossed. -Increase Sales (Boring). - Vow your customers (Exciting).

Reverse The Problem


-Turn it on its head.
-If You Want To Win Find Out What Would Make You Loose. - Increase Sales REVERSE - Find The Ways to Decrease sales.

Gather Facts
-Investigate Causes and Circumstances of the Problem. -Probe Details About It. Example: Problem stated by your spouse is. You Never Listen To Me The Solution is not obvious
If the problem statement is You Dont Make Enough Eye Contact When Im Talking To You Then The solution is obvious

Tips
What most of dont realize is that the quality of the solutions we come up with will be in direct proportion to the quality of the description of the problem we are trying to solve. How much effort you invest in defining the problem id directly proportional to how less efforts you put in to solve that.
