Sachin too was involved in batting Scam- Majhar Majid.

In a dramatic turn out here at Londons southwark crown court, the accused bookie Majhar Majid claimed that a very famous Indian cricketer was also involved in batting. While he was handed over a sentence of two years and eight months of imprisonment , he told the court that he had contacted Sachin Tendulkar at different times in different series and he was readily agreed to fix matches in return of some really heavy price. I first met Sachin in 1998 when he was playing in a triangular tournament in sharjah. He was just 25 year old then, though very popular cricketer but not rich. When I called him, he was practicing in the ground for the match against Australia to be played the next day. At first, he was very hesitant in talking to me, with his rhinal accent seldom choking in his throat and giving sounds like aaillaa, but when I offered him fifteen overs of batting practice, he was all game to meet me. There we discussed about the next days match and how we would go about this whole batting scam. After that match, we again met before the final match of the tournament though this time I had to offer him catching practice for half an hour to fix a meeting. The plan went as expected and in both the matches, he batted according to the deal. After that, we met on several occasionsIndia-Australia Chennai test match, Ind-Pak WC03 match, IndAus Sydney test match, Ind-eng Chennai test match, Ind-Aus Hbad ODI, Ind-SAf Gwalior ODI and WC11 matches being some of those. He used to demand different things for fixing different matches against different opposition. Sometimes he would ask for 3 hour per day batting practice for 2 weeks, with a wet cork ball on a cemented pitch, and at other times, he would ask for a batting practice against around the legs-leg spin bowling. One day he crossed all the limits, when he asked me to go to IT office in Mumbai to fill his IT returns while agreeing for a deal in the match against Namibia in WC03.
