SELF OPERATED COMBINE GROUNDNUT HARVESTER

Dinesh Kumar - 103478060 As the combine harvester has to perform the dual operations such as harvesting and threshing. Here the harvesting and threshing machine are mounted in single assembly in order to perform both process. The combine harvester is made to be self operated and it does not requires tractor for locomotion. We going to use diesel engine for locomotion of this harvester. Hence it may withstand the heavy load during the process of harvesting and it also economically favour. It does not requires any changes in the cultivation method of groundnut , since the external locomotive vehicle is not needed. It is also well suited for small sized groundnut forms. As a part of our project we are collecting document on types of ground picker and designing the picker of arm type .Our plan to design picker of 800 mm width and spaced at nearly 80mm spaced from each other .Height of the picker are made according to the height of thresher .Picker has to be powered by engine using chain drive. Picker harvest the groundnut and transfer it to thresher. Nearly 6 kg of is need to pick the groundnut from ground and pod depth needed is 60 mm .Pulley is needed to drive the picker. To avoid the slipping of groundnut while transferring to thresher picker are provided with teeth of shape edges .
