1. Where is the color code for a jack shown? The colors on the both sides of the jack 2. How many possible color codes are there? There are 3 different color codes 3. How many wires are there? There are 8 wires twisted together, there are thearitcally 4 pairs of wires. 4. What colors are used on the wires? The colors of the wires are green, orange, blue, brown, with each having its own wire with a white stripe on it 5. The tool used to insert the wires does what two things to each wire? cutting and terminating RJ-45 plung. First blade cuts the cable and then the second blade to strip the cable outer jacket to remove about an inch so wires are exposed 6. What is the most critical part of the termination procedure to ensure a quality connection? Ensure that the connection is good and there isnt a short, and there isnt excess wire or not enough wire. 7. How is the outer insulation covering each wire cut through during the termination procedure? It is cut lengthwise on the side of the cable. 8. Which color code is used in this example? The color codes used in this example are Blue/White, Blue , Green/White, Green, Orange/White, Orange, Brown/White , Brown 9. In every case does the solid color go to the right and the white stripped color to the left?
