Heart Faith or Mental Assent

Review the central truth, the memory verse, prayer and confessions, and read the Bible Story with scripture references indicated under the power outlets. As this is done each day, let your child color in or put a sticker on the power outlet located on the back of the devotional. At the end of the week please sign as proof of completion and return to the teacher. If we really believe what the Bible says is the true word of God then we will change ourselves to match what it says we should be as children of God.

Romans 10:10, For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness.

Faith is acting on the Word of God. Real faith is of the heart. True believers of the Word hear the Bible preached at church and do it. To have mental assent means that a person agrees that the Bible is true, but does not act on it. Mentally agreeing does not change anything. Mental assenters just hear the Word and fool themselves into thinking that they are believers. If we really believe what the Bible says we will act like it; meaning we will try to be obedient children of God. To recite the Word is great, but remember that even demons believeand tremble. We must be true believers in our hearts.

Father God, Thank you for loving me and taking care of me. Bless my church, Apostles Ron and Hope. Bless my teachers for teaching me Your Word. I believe your love is flowing through me to other people. Help me to obey my parents so things will go well with me and I will live a long life on the earth. I will tell how great you are and how much I love you. I thank You that by Jesus stripes I am healed. In Jesus' name, Amen
