FOOT SOLDIERS FOR JUSTICE

By Sharon Rose gh Contributor

ortyseven years ago (1965) Dr. Martin Luther King and his foot soldiers marched from Selma to Montgomery in Alabama in the most powerful and effective demonstration in the fight for justice for the Negro people whose Civil Rights were being violated. 47 years later (2012) its insane to believe that we the people, foot soldiers are forced to fight, march to raise awareness to the people and the negative energy raging insidiously, yet obvious that we will not allow our rights to be revoked. The issues have broadened between then and now. We are saying no to voter suppression, attacks against women rights to the care of their bodies, the lack of immigration reform and the general rudeness and out right disrespect of each other as human beings.
