July 24, 2012 Dear Fellow Citizens, It is with much enthusiasm that we announce an upcoming opportunity to use the

most current and innovative media available while debating a highly controversial topic: the death penalty. As graduate students in University of Floridas Division of Criminology, Law and Society, my colleagues and I recently received a grant through The Bob Graham Center for Public Service to promote Using the Death Penalty: Should We Flip The Switch? The focus of our project is to guide thoughtful debate about the death penalty while utilizing UFs awardwinning Civil Debate Wall. A question of our design will be posted on The Wall, located at UFs Pugh Hall, or accessible online, from July 30th through August 5th and our goal is to reach 100 participants. Currently, the promotion of this debate is reaching a national audience, as we are contacting all professional contacts to garner interest and increase participation. To remind you of this exciting and unique opportunity, we will follow up with more details within the next week. In the meantime, please feel free to forward this initial announcement to any additional listservs or social media sites that may include contacts interested in death penalty topics. Links to our Twitter and Facebook have been provided below. For those interested in learning more about the Civil Debate Wall click here to instantly be connected. Any questions or suggestions pertaining to the debate or using The Wall can be sent to molly.e.buchanan@ufl.edu. Thank you for your time and we look forward to seeing your writing on The Wall, July 30th through August 5th! Sincerely, Molly Buchanan, M.S.
