System Label Database Errors in iQ Works Software
Windows XP SP3 Melsoft Navigator V1.10 or Greater GX Works2 V1.31 or Greater Issue: Failed to communicate with system label database error message in GX Works2 or MT-Developer2 with projects created with Melsoft Navigator with Registered System Labels.

Solution: If you receive this error message please check the following to correct the issue. 1. Make sure that your Project directory contains a folder called $_CPRJ_$ and an MMS.mdb file. This is the System Label Database directory and file. If this directory and or file do not exist, the System Label Database does not exist and can not be accessed from the software. MMS = Melsoft Meditative Server.

2.

Check your Windows Task Manager (CRTL-ALT-Delete in Windows XP) Processes Tab to see if there are two Services running. MMSserve.exe (about 4.1K) and MMSserve.exe (about 16.4K), the amount of memory usage may vary. One is used by the Melsoft Meditative Server and one is used by the Melsoft Navigator Workspace. If these Services are not running or listed go to step 3.

3.

In order to start Services (Windows XP) open Control Panel Administrative Tools Services. Look for MELSOFT Mediative Server (in the error message it is spelled Meditative). If it is not in a Started Status, as shown below, select Start the service from the upper left selection window. The Startup Type should be Automatic as shown below. If running a Virtual Machine go to Step 4. If it is not listed at all please reinstall the software and reboot the PC.

4.

When using a Virtual Machine make sure the software is loaded on the Virtual Machine Local Drive not a remote or shared drive on the PC. Even though it may look like the Service is running on the Virtual Machine the iQ Works software will not run properly unless it is loaded on the Virtual Machine local drive.
