Finger knitting

Weave yarn back across fingers - around little finger, behind ring finger, in front of middle finger and behind index finger. Repeat steps 2 &3 until you have 2 rows on each finger.

Knitting
Start at the little finger, take the bottom piece of yarn and lift up and over the finger. Repeat with other fingers, working from little finger to index finger.

At end of first row, put tail and yarn between index and middle finger. Start next row by winding yarn anti-clockwise around the index finger. Continue knitting by repeating steps 2, 3 and 4 occasionally tighten tail at the back.

Things you need:


A ball of wool

Casting on

Place you hand with your palm up. Hold the yarn against your palm with your thumb as shown.

Casting off

Start with 1 row of yarn on each finger. Take loop of yarn off little finger and put on ring finger, knit as usual. Repeat on ring then middle finger ending on the index finger.

Weave yarn in and out of fingers. Start in front of your index finger and go behind middle finger, in front of ring finger and then behind the little finger.

Knit on index finger so one loop remains. Cut yarn leaving 10cm. Remove loop from finger, thread tail through loop and pull.
