    Amy has graduated from York College with a Social Work degree. She will use her degree to further her work serving at Street LIFE Ministries in New York City. At Tompkins Square Park, Amy and her team met Celena, a 28-year-old woman who has experienced homelessness and abusive relationships. Celena said she just wants to be loved. Amy was able to share her testimony of finding God's love and strength to leave an abusive relationship. Celena was not ready to receive God's love but was moved by Amy talking about His love. Amy asks for continued prayers for Celena and others they minister to.

    NEW YORK TO THE NATIONS, THE NATIONS TO NEW YORK

    Class of 2012
    Shouts of joy filled the air as the President of the school pronounced us graduates of York College 2012. A chapter of my life officially closed. These past 4 years have been amazing. Between going to classes in the evening, studying for exams, internship, and serving at the ministry during the day, I look back amazed and thankful for all the prayers and support that got me to this point. Today I walk as a fulfilled graduate with a Social Work degree, ready to further embark on the adventure of serving at Street LIFE Ministries. With this degree I know God will receive even greater glory as He uses me here on the streets of NY. Thanks once again for all the support youve shown through it all.

    Tompkins Square Park: Looking for Love


    Limping across the side walk, Celena approached us pretty bruised and beaten up from something that happened that morning. I just want to be loved, she cried as we began our conversation. Her fianc, and the father of her newborn baby, just left her and she was upset because she felt so alone. At 28 years old, she has experienced several abusive relationships, one divorce, and sporadic homelessness. As she was sharing her story, I felt strongly that God wanted her to know His love and desire to have a personal relationship with her. At one point, I was able to share my personal testimony of how God took me out of an abusive relationship and gave me the strength to let go. Although she was not ready to receive Gods love, she broke down every time I spoke about His love versus that of the world and kept saying she just wants to be loved. Please keep praying for Celena; there are many we minister to on a weekly basis at Tompkins with stories like hers. Once again, thank you for reading and for all your prayers and support!
