EUSAC: Diving Officers Report Mar-May 2012

Hello, Eusac! Here is the first DO report of the year. Covering late march to late may period (22-032012 22-05-2012).

Man Dives
In this period we have done a total of about 193 man dives. 113 of them were done on Loch Fyne trip and the rest over another 12 dives, mainly at the loch long. And only about 30-35 dives were fun dives, with the rest being training. The good tendency is that there are some new names among the most active dive managers: JR, Iain and Adam. And I hope other ODs, SDs and newly qualified DLs will follow their example and run more trips.

Preston Quarry
A new popular site is Preston Quarry, it has been used a few times already by our divers for training and fun diving having a major advantage of being very close to Edinburgh and not affected by weather. Qualifications
During this period EUSACers have achieved* the following qualifications: Adam Apostoli Sarah Jane Ponting Franchesca Jagger Victoria Marsden Denis Stojanovic DL OD OD OD SD 25/03/2012 25/03/2012 25/03/2012 15/04/2012 15/04/2012

* - I know that a few more people have completed the training required for their next qualification, but these are not included into this list until they are officially stamped and signed by the DO

Courses
During this period EUSACers have attended the following courses: Adam A, Mike H, Robert G OWIC (Scotland)

Incidents
There were no incidents in the period passed. There has been one instance of suspicion of DCI. The diver was administered O2 and has been checked by the doctor, but released without needing any further treatment.
