Dentistry in USA

There are 13 post-graduate residency programs in dentistry that you can apply for: 1234567Orthodontics Endodontics Oral and Maxillofacial surgery Periodontics Restorative Dentistry Pedodontics AGD and GPR programs (Advanced General Dentistry and General Practionar Residency) 8- Prosthodontics 9- Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology 10- Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology 11- Oral Medicine* 12- Tempromandibular joint diseases* 13- Implantology*

*Limited schools offer them and not accredited by the American Dental Association (ADA) in all states. All the dental specialties can be combined with either master or PhD degree; those degrees in United States are in basic science like (Oral biology, Public health or Biomaterialect). Acceptance Requirements: 1- TOEFL exam: A- 550 minimum score for all schools B- Some schools require 600 minimum score (e.g. Harvard dental school) C- Other schools require at least 5 out of 6 in the writing part of the exam 2- GRE Exam: For master degrees is a must in many schools but not required in the others for PhD degree is a must in all school. 3- National Board exams 1&2 are a must for some residency programs (e.g Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, Orthodontics, endodontics) in some schools.

4- DDS from USA some schools for some programs (e.g Pedodontics &surgery) 5- Additional requirements: A- Some schools ask for research experience and/ or publication to get in the program, in this situation you have to start as a master student to achieve this first then you can start the residency. B- Some schools ask for one fellowship or internship before you can start a residency program specially in competitive specialty (Surgery, Orthoddontics or endodontics)
