At 45 deg.

At 80 deg.

Observing the above 3 rib angles it is found that as the rib angle increases forces in yhe elements decreases. from the above results it is found that at 10 deg. forces in the elements are more, we design the equipment for 10 degree angle, it can with stand all angles and all the forces in the elements.

Deatail esign of equipment in 3D model using finate element method and find the elemental forces in the robs

Assumptions for modeling the finite element model: 1. 2. 3. to find the forces in the ribs assumed that rib is rigid member, i.e deflection is zero. weight of the rib, table & other components are neglected for simple calculation Load taken on the table is 200 kg is considered as point load and applied at the center.

Procedure: 1. Physical model of the equipment at 10 deg. is represented in mathematical model in CAE-PIPE.

2. each and every point at the connection of ribs are modeled as a node, where the forces need to get as output. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Analysis the model. in the post processing we the elemental forces and moments. find the resultant forces and moments. substitute the forces and moments in eq. (F/A + M/Z) and calculate the stress in the ribs. Calculated stress should be less than yield stress of the material.
