Phonics First sounds t and d listening practice naming the pictures. Students than have to identify which pictures begin with the correct first sound by listening to them. Play the memory game using t and d first sound words. Students have to remember a string of words and identify (if able) objects around the classroom that begin with the appropriate letter. Writing practice practice writing the words associated with pictures and find out which ones have the correct starting letters. Use the corners game to help students identify the difference between similar sounding words that start with the letters t and d. Notes / parent follow up: Encourage your children to identity family members using the correct English terms. Help them to incorporate their new vocabulary into daily life Mothers Day is a great opportunity to have them write a card in English as well.
